The health context that we have been experiencing since 2020 makes the organisation of congresses very complex.
Although the situation at national level has improved in recent weeks, the health rules for organising congresses remain restrictive and the medium-term evolution of the pandemic remains uncertain.
Unfortunately, this situation does not allow us to envisage a calm organization of the conference and to welcome you in acceptable conditions.
The organising committee, in consultation with the Board of Directors of the Biomechanics Society, has therefore decided to organise the 46th Congress of the Biomechanics Society as a virtual congress.
We are counting on you and we have no doubt that these particular conditions will not harm the scientific quality of the exchanges.

Jointly organised by the Society of Biomecanichs, the University of Jean Monnet and the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne, the 46th congress of the Society of Biomechanics will take place in Saint-Etienne from 25 to 27 October 2021 within the Campus Santé Innovations.
The theme of this edition will be 'Health and motor performance'. It will be open to all those involved in biomechanics: researchers, students, coaches, trainers, practitioners and clinicians interested in the various fields of the discipline.
The topics usually covered by the SB will be represented and a special session on Innovative approaches and sports performance will be co-organised with the GDR Sport & Physical Activity.
During the plenary sessions, we will have the honour of welcoming prestigious guest speakers:Pr. Walter Herzog from the University of Calgary, Pr Christian Hellmich from the technical uUniversity of Vienna and Pr Benedicte Vanwanseele from the University of Leuven.
Young and experienced researchers will be distinguished with the awarding of the prizes of the Biomechanical Society: the thesis prize, the young researcher prize, the SB Poster prize, the Jean Vivés prize, and the Christian Oddou prize.
Finally, your participation in the next SB congress will be an opportunity to visit and discover the city of Saint-Etienne,
